How much for a 8800GTX?

Still a retarded comment - What proof is there that the 8800GTX all of a sudden is failing all over the world?

That’s like saying the 2006 BWM 3series is a failcar because some guys broke down.

He doesn't mean Failcard in terms of it is not a good card, he means failcard in terms of a lot of them fail nowadays, as in pack up or break. There was a thread somewhere on Prophecy about a guy who's 8800gtx card stopped working. He put it in the oven and fixed it:

You are assuming thats what he meant...unless you are him then it's up to him to clear up his "comment".

Well the 88gtx is a fail card these days, gets beaten but 1k cards , was it a fail card when it came out? no. Is it one now? yes compared to what we have it is without a doubt.

R900 would be the utmost to pay for this.

Power consumption is a big drawback for this card, otherwise it's still OK.
I'd much rather buy a brand new 4850 for R1100 that an old 8800GTX for R900 though.

You can pick up 8800GT's with good warranties for R800-R900 too though, which might be a better bet. But like Killa said, comes doen to one's own opinion.
