How much gold do you have?

Hmmm, I probably have about 1k spread across alts, and about another 1k in stuff that I could sell (saved alot of rare recipes incase I ever need it), Dont have epic flying on any toon, because I spend gold at an insane rate atm trying to gear my lock and get her chants and gems.

just hit the 3k mark on my warlock (again, damn gems!) saving for me epic mount atm. Got about 300g spread around between my alts.

Yeah, that's how I make my $$$ too...AH + Auctioneer = :)

Iam yet to find out how the hells this damn auction house game works!
God damn it! Could anyone give a brief sum up?

Also, i have about 3.5k gold spread over my main and alts, All my alts have epic flying mounts and such.

Thing that hit my gold the most was Brutallus in Funwell! Argh! The amount i sank into mana pots for
that boss was crazy! not to mention flasks and oils. Not looking forward to wipe nights on M'uru!

Auction House 101:

Buy for a bargain, sell for a profit. Risks are involved, but so are rewards. I've suffered about 160g worth of complete loss, but gained a substantial amount more.

Example, sparkling azure moonstones ... My 1st one sold for 16g, I now have surplus stocks that I cannot even sell for 1g.

Be careful not to upset your AH economy. Do not try and sell things for ridiculous prices - since it builds up a history - and your prices become the norm...and before you know it, you've turned your Auction House into Zimbabwe.

If you REALLY want to save money while you're in a guild. If you have something valuable that a fellow guild member can use and you merely picked it up, give it to him/her for free. Sure you're losing on profit now, but you didn't pay for the item ... furthermore, when YOU need something, he/she or another guildy will reciprocate (or you're in a crappy guild) - or even just help you out more often, thus saving on health potion costs and damage repair bills. Plus you are seen a cool guy and get invited to better instances where you pick up even MORE loot to sell.

I'm also still very new at this, so bear with me and feel free to comment and correct my statements - in fact, my 1st month's subscription has not even been deducted yet.

Yup... I am also blowing insane amounts of gold on pots on Brutallus.

Its one huge expensive boss....

Spent like almost a 1000 gold in a week :(

how the hell did you get 42k gold!!! Thats just insane! I have about R3.5k across all my chars. 2x Epic mounts

Haven't used the AH to sell anything for agess no time to waste on that.

The most valuable lesson I learnt leveling my Rogue was pickpocket everything. I have such an enormous stockpile of Super Healing and Super Mana (we talking 60+ of each) that I won't be buying any pots for a while.

I should actually do that!

I'm questing through all my levels with a mage buddy of mine. We're both lvl47 or so now and how we operate is I go in and blow all my stunlocks while he fireballs the mobs.

While I sap to CC I should sommer pick pocket as well. I know there is a macro for this, but I have no idea how macros/key binding work...

As I've mentioned, I'm a n00b - this is my 1st month of playing WoW ... still sorting out this addon thing as well.

I actually just have Pickpocket on my action bar.
My Stealthed Action bar doesn't need a lot of space so typically it's Distract, PP, Sap, CS, Garotte.

yeh same here ... Distract is simply THE coolest thing... especially when you're sneaking into a big cave to do some mining :D (My rogue has actually gotten me into more trouble than I care to admit for this same reason)

This is a bit off topic, but since we're all friends...

With my rogue I typically open with:
1) Distract
2) Cheap shot
3) SS/CS (I forget which one it is now - the combat rogue one anyway)
4) Kidney shot
5) Gouge

by that time my mage has taken the oke out before he's had a single punch at me.

It seems to work just fine, but I REALLY struggle with PVP... any advice?

PVP is all about spec (sub) and practice (timing your stuns, cooldowns, and interrupts(kick)). And largely gear. And being a rogue, you need to play like one. It's pure cheese but don't be afraid to run (cloak+vanish) if things look bad. You're the only class that *can*. Exploit it.

I also though Sub was the PvP spec of choice but it seems Combat Maces or Combat swords is generally prefered for Arena as Sub focuses on the opening whereas Combat puts out sustained Damage.

I think the reason for that is, the respec issue.

Hardcore PvP players only play Sub Spec. I mean the Shadowstep+Ambush crits can 1hit clothies. If not, a stun lock follows and the clothy is dead.

I play with Combat sword mainly due to the respec issue. I might just be alone on this. But that is my take on it.

Actually I'm talking about Hardcore PvP'ers. The problem with Shadowstep + Ambush Crits is thats one hit and in Arena they're not going to 1hit anything because all the Resilience gear will mitigate the damage too much.

After that initial hit, if you're planning on Stunlocking, you could just as easily do it with a Combat Spec while dishing out more Damage.

I was basically the only JC on my old server - had all the designs, yada yada - plus I had mining back then, and time to farm. A month or two of aggressive advertising, and I ended up with probably 50% of all JC business on the server. I was making 500g a day without even trying. 2k a day if I put serious work into it.
It's slowed up lon my new server, due to a) lack of time, and b) every frigging JC in the world having all epic cuts and offering them for free, but I get by.

Pleo, please forgive my n00bism , but what does "JC" stand for?

@ PitBull, TheShogun, etc ... I've moved my rogue discussion here , so this thread can stay on topic. Thanks for the input!

ah right *smacks forehead*

I was discussing it last night actually, I'll do gathering professions to lvl70 - then I'm thinking of dropping skinning and taking up jewelcrafting. Considering that we don't have too many of them in our guild compared to leatherworking/skinning/enchanting/smithing/whatnot.

Plus, it might go together rather well with my mining + gems I pick up from it. My level buddy is also doing enchanting - so I'm sure we can help each other in that regard.

I know just about NOTHING about jewelcrafting - what sort of items do you make ? i.e. used for enchanting , armor making etc. or just rings/trinkets ?

Gems, millions and millions of gems. Go check the Ah tonight for gem prices.

The designs are crazy priced but in the end it is worth it.
