How much gold do you have?

Oh right! I thought gems were raw mats being used for jewelcrafting - since I get them from mining. I have a whole bank bag full of gems. They're part of my very lucrative AH bids. It's quite fun trading in gems too since loads of okes sell them for peanuts.

So if you make millions and millions of gems - do you just sell them off to blacksmiths,leatherworkers and enchanters or can you physically make equipable items with it yourself?
 
You can make some rings and trinkets with jewelcrafting. Of course, the real caveat is being able to turn a tidy profit on the Auctionhouse - people burn through gems at a ridiculous rate.
 
That's not a caveat, that's a bonus :P

Just be aware of your server's gem climate before going for JC willy-nilly at this point. Everyone's clued up to the fact that it's a major profit machine, so all the designs that sell well (viz. anything that uses Living Ruby, Noble Topaz) goes for about 500g+ (on my server). And while uncut gems can still be sold for a tidy profit if you farm the ore yourself (and Glass has made even green gems profitable now), if you want to make the real cash you need to cut them.
 
on my current "main" pve realm I have 1.6k across all my mains. I dont have alts. They are all mains. lol.

On me flavour of the realm which is horde and a pvp realm, I have 70gold, which will shortly be blown on my mount when i level 40. :)
 
I'm on 1700g now, which is sucky because im lvl 52 and I was already on 1000g at lvl 40 - but i've stopped using the AH and just busy stockpiling my gems collection in a 16slot neverweave bag as well as procure mats to send off to mates to make me cool gear.

Last night my thorium stack sold for 38g within a few minutes, so I think mining that will raise income again. In my defense, the last week has been spent on trying to level cooking & lock picking.
 
90g now...down from 1300g yesterday :(

Was getting my Enchanting skilled up more...from 265 to 320...Donno if I should be happy or cry :p

For your level I would rather have gotten to about 275 Enchanting. Until u hit 58 and enter Outland it's better to level enchanting as you're leveling by DE'ing everything.
Once u in Outland the items u DE will be giving u Outland mats so it's at that point that I buy mats to get to 300.

300-350 in Outland is a breeze.

I've done 1-375 3 times now.

I do dailys with main and send all the greens, etc to my mage.

& bottomscanner ftw.
 
I hang on to all my mats. I should sell off some but I'm not in need of cash yet.
 
I bought about 2k worth of adamantite over the weekend and prospected it. Up to today 90% of my gems have sold, almost 2k profit made :)
 
I made 10k gold in the last 4 weeks. I have a route that takes me 2 hours, in that hour i do 15 daylies and gather leather and ore - on average i get 25 - 30 adamanite - 25 - 30 fel - iron and about 20 knothide leather. I also get the 4 greenies from the dailies 5 marks and some potions.

I collect about 40 greenies in 5 days, they de into about 100 - 125 arcane dust, 20 greather planar essence and maybe one or 2 large prismatic shards.

So i go to the Ah every 5 days with
150 Adamantie ore
150 Fel Iron ore
100 Knothide leather
100 Acrane Dust
20 Greather Planar
and 1 Shard

That adds up to the +- 1000 gold plus the 800 gold for the 5 days worth of dailies, i say the rest of the money i collect sets-off the repairs, foods and stuff like that. (I did not mention motes i get with ore, that is to random, but i would say i get about 50 mote of earth and about 20 mote of fire per 5 days, that adds about another 200g to this)

That is about 180 - 200 per hour i make on a good day

I'm lvl 70 :p

I dropped a gathering prof for enchanting, thats why I'm skilling up on this one only now ;)
 
As said, I'm on 2 gatherings, mining(292)/skinning(300)

I'm not sure which one to drop once I'm 70 in order to start a crafting profession - I reckon i'll gooi skinning and become a jeweler.

Any views?

btw, well done on getting 40g by lvl 29, Aquaknight ! :)
 
finally got me epic flyer over the weekend. So now i have about 300g with 500g to pay back for loan. Should have it payed off by the weekend though.
Already noticed a big increase in my gold income since I've got the epic flyer. Dailys are a breeze now :D

I'm on my way to getting my epic mount (lvl60)... I'm so keen :D
