Hi,

A friend of mine has a HP 602 Notebook. He spilled some water over the keyboard. The keyboard works fine, all keys are working, but the mouse pad does not work, including the left and right click buttons.

How much does it cost to repair. The laptop is not older than a year.

If you stripped the whole thing down, soaked it in isopropyl alcohol, dried it then it should work fine afterwards. No need to buy new parts.

I don't think anyone sells damaged touchpads.

Is the touchpad really that important to replace? I find it hard to understand how people are productive and efficient with a touchpad. In any case, you could just connect up a USB or wireless Nano or Bluetooth mouse. Problem solved.

Ever try sitting at some nTh world country airport lounge? It's kind of hard to run a mouse when all you have is your lap and a dirty floor.
