How much longer load shedding in SA will continue for

And for a lot longer than the 18 months quoted by Minister Brown

That's not altogether surprising - Eskom have a big mess to cleanup.

At the present rate of delays at the new power stations under construction you will be lucky if it isn't ten years with all the strikes and mismanagement .

Make that a month before the 2019 elections:D

It will continue long enough to make the new nuclear deals look like a saving grace

When they say "its here to stay" they mean it literally. It will become the same as just about every other failed African state.
Eventually you'll have power for 1-3 hours a day

Think about the situation for a minute.... it took twenty years of disrepair to get to the point where we are now.

I can't see how this gigantic mess will be sorted out in less than a decade, even when the problems are addressed by competent engineers and craftsmen.

Until the cANCer is replaced by a proper, functioning Government i.e. not in our lifetime.

If I was NERSA, I'd slash the Eskom board of directors' salaries but 70 or 80% and tell them that it will remain this way until the energy crisis is resolved. Then you watch them all of a sudden jump into action!

"appealing to South Africans to save electricity." "Eskom’s net profit decreased from R7.1bn to R3.6bn"

Eksdom need to make up their mind, they can't ask us to use less electricity, and then when we do, expect to still make a profit.

Logic = Fails

Thats irony of it all.. we have load shedding because they cant meet demand so business has stopped growing and thankfully this also is happening at the time when commodities are under pressure so growth in SA is basically going down drastically and STILL they cant meet demand.. now that is scary.

NERSA has no such power. Might as well ask the Banana Board to slash Eskom exec pay.

Load shedding will remain as long as the USELESS REGIME
keep on meddling in stuff they haven't got a clue about.
Appoint competent people and let Government create infrastructure and the rest will happen by itself.
The government cant even run the country let alone ESCOM, SAA, TRANSNET, SABC .

As long as the current 'leadership' is in power, expect no improvement, only regression.

But ya, have a vote,,, baaaa, makes another sheep sound.

The race is on, Eskom needs to produce power and scientists and corporations need to get third generation solar "production ready".
Speculation suggests third generation solar *might* be here as soon as 2017. Eskom, well, speculation is that Eskom is speculating.
