How much money do you have left?

R21k excl savings. How do so many of you guys end up with less than R1k?

edit: Which is actually pretty good for the month since I'm getting $$$$ on Friday/Saturday.

Yeah, I think I'm on -R1 to -2k or something. From helping out family etc etc.

Nah not a tender, I'd be having R40k now if I were not a gadget whore, I spend R20K in one week on Gadgets. Looking forward to the next pay though, my savings would be close to R70k:)

I also have the same syndrome as you:p, I hardly ever stick to a budget.

Same here, R800 till next Tuesday for three of us, there's petrol in the car and food in the house and R400's electricity on the pre-paid. So that should cover us for bread and milk, fresh veggies.

Fortunately I don't have a credit card, so I always make sure I have at least R1 200 for the last week of the month, and that's how it goes monthly (this month I had unexpected medical expenses)

I move all extra money from my transactional account to a higher interest bearing investment account.
Thats why I have less than 1K in my account come month end. :)

I like to maintain a R20k buffer so that I have immediate access to cash in an emergency. Don't have a credit card, don't want one either :)
 
Why all the "i dont want or need a credit card" in this thread?

There is nothing wrong with a credit card, the only problem is with the people who abuse them.

Without a credit card, i wouldnt be able to make many internet purchases (plane tickets, accomodation, dvd's, music, software etc etc)

20K .. wow, thats a big buffer :).

Yeah, I dip into my credit card come month end. Settle it once I get paid to avoid paying interest.
If I need cash in an emergency, I am able to withdraw from my investment account, but I guess its not good to do that.
Hopefully I dont have an emergency in this lifetime. :)

I helped a friend out this month with some cash and now I sit in the shyte... but it's all good - what are friends for.
