How much power does your PC need?

i've read a lot of articles on this site. It's very useful to me and i appreciate this site. however, i have one BIG criticism. A lot of the articles are very long winded and don't get to the point. Don't get me wrong, they are written very professionally, they use big words - wow - they really show of the authors intelligence. I am not being sarcastic, the author is obviously very intelligent and the stuff well written. THE PROBLEM is the average reader (I'm assuming here) is NOT interested. They are in a rush at work or at home etc. They don't care about reading a lot of cr@p? they want details. facts and figures etc. table, pictures. ways of conveying the most amount of RELEVANT information to the reader in the quickest possible time. I suggest a survery to see who agrees with me. or failing that I suggest a summarised article and then the long winded article so the guys in a rush (who isn't in a rush nowadays?) can read the summarised version.

I agree. However, as they say, high class people talk about ideas - but now I'm just flattering the MyBB forum readers. These ideas are being developed into products that may not be accesible (right now) to the 'average citizen.' Also, I think that the energy dilemma will be solved within our lifetime. We will see the downfall of the enormous powerhungry 'cartels' controlling oil around the world. Now I'm getting carried away :-P

Anybody here actually used something like a "killa-watt" to measure their actual power consumption ? Wanted to get one for a while, but can never find a local supplier...

i was on my pc all day a few days back and our prepaid units went up very quick, is it possible that my pc took all the power as nothing else was on?
