How much you should pay for uncapped ADSL

Please add R190 to that figure for analogue line Telkom tax then suddenly not so rosey.
 
...and let's also not forget, it would probably look a little different if the exchange rate wasn't R13.something to the $ -due to jz's shenanigans?
(Things suddenly look a lot different if it was say R10 or R11 to the $)

Yup, hence the reason for my post above.
 
The ISP that supplies our Business 4MB uncapped line charges us in the region of R4000 p/m.

We must have the most expensive 4MB adsl line in SA.

I should name and shame the business to be honest.

For ADSL, needs the Telskum line rental (as stated above) added in.

And $104 for residential??? Another erm...
Halve that and add free same cell/landline network calls, free cell/landline calls to any network on the weekends, about a zillion tv channels, more sports than you can ever watch, and so many new movies (most of which will never be released here in SA) your brain will melt.

What many people don't know is that they subscribe and pay for a package of Mps that is less 8 times than what international isp provides for their customers,in other words if you subscribe for 4mps you actually getting 0,5 mps
Why? Simply because you subscribe for 4 megabyte per second and you getting 4 megabits per second
1megabyte =8 megabit
1mps=8mps yes abbreviation is the same that's the catch
More of this? 200 Gb = 25 GB
200 gigabit = 25 gigabyte

Name and shame yourself (because there are many ISPs to choose from).

No no no, an idiot thinks they subscribe for 4MBps but when everyone else knows its 4mbps.
 
Where can I get uncapped internet access that you get what your paying for . Unlike Telkom where I'm sepose to have a 2mbps line and only receiving 0,8kbps and if you ask them about it is within the prescribed limit, but it never goes up. And then they charge me for a 4mbps line. I'm sick of paying for something and not receiving what I'm paying for.

There's about a R20 difference between 2 and 4Mbps.

I won't mind a 100 megabyte per second line. Lucky people in other countries...apparently.

Technically it would be "Mbps" - capital M for Mega, a small m would (according to SI prefixes) indicate milli bits per second. Definitely not a desirable internet speed.

MBps would indicate mega bytes per second, yes, but internet speeds are advertised in Mbps here. I don't know about internationally, been a while since I've tried to buy internet overseas...
