My ADSL line will be installed tomorrow but I have no idea how much it's going to cost. What else will I have to pay for besides line rental (R150?) and 2mb uncapped (R297 - Afrihost)?

your telkom account will be roughly R350 per month, then you still need to pay afrihost the R297.

That's quite high! I'm currently paying R919 for Neotel Prime and thought 2mbps ADSL would cost half

Will 4mbps cost R100 more? If that's the case I might ditch DSTV and stream everything if possible.

I stream on a 2mb.
Works perfectly.
DSTV won't get sh*t from me, well except for negative feedback on MyBB.

Please tell me ypur experience with Afrihost. I am 4mb uncapped with Openweb (Gamerking account) abd very disappointed, I can't see how streaming will work with how slow the line is...

You guys are awesome! Will feedback once I'm setup. Now to convince wife to cancel R695pm DSTV...

My wife was the driving force behind quitting DSTV.
Downgraded for her which ended up being even more rubbish on their compact deal.
Now my wife has unlimited Youtube, TED, Hulu and whatever else she wants.
She was a big fan of E Entertainment which you can stream via youtube without any issues.

Had my line installed this morning. Seems to be a 1meg line, which I assume is the default when you don't specify which one you want. Are my stats any good?
