How often do you change your chip oil?

For those of you with chip friers how many batches of chips do you make in it between oil changes?

Filter the oil after frying and use it 4 or 5 times - is that bad?

Chips for 5 people take a helluva lot of oil.

just frying chips doesnt make the oil dirty in a hurry, the crumbs and stuff that you fry in there creates a schit load of dirt

Tell me about it. I just changed the oil now and already the missus is cooking nuggets in it.

The worst thing for me is when the missus fries crumbed fish of some variety in the chip oil. It is tainted and has to be expelled immediately!

I was going to say who deep fries anything nowadays. But looking above seems to still be a common thing.
