Gold and silver bars ain’t going to help either, but that’s not stopped me. I guess it depends on consistency and depth of the ****

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a bit of doomsday prepping, but I'm just saying when or if that day comes you better have something better to barter with than some worthless paper. Food and clean drinking water are probably going to be worth more than anything we consider valuable in our ordinary lives.

I draw cash when I go to the pub and leave the cards at home. That way, when the cash is finished, it's time to go home. This swiping and tapping thing just leads to trouble. I also never run a tab.

Same as gold and silver aren't really going to do much either

Once a month to pay domestic, garden service and general worker. Also to get tuck shop money for kid.

Once every 3 months or so I would guess. For paying pocket money, the gardener, and when the school needs the kids to bring in cash for some civies day or thing. Less than 1% of my transactions by value are cash I would guess.

I will draw cash now and again but that's just to have cash for an emergency, which is hardly ever.

If cash is required, cashback from retail stores is safer. 2nd option is ATMs from inside shops. I try and avoid standalone ATMS, but sometimes it is not possible (luckily, some FNB ATMs and I am sure banks too, offer a card tapping feature; allowing me to put the card away safely). Another option is to send yourself an ewallet and then simply withdraw at an ATM.
