How often to the Paediatrician ?

my 2 older daughters only saw the paed two or three times, but my younger daughter was born 2 months prem and has chronic asthma. so she saw the paed numerous times on the GP's instructions. when she turned 6 i was instructed by the paed to take her to the pulmonologist and have been with the lung doc ever since. she is now 16 and sees him twice a year for her bi annual lung function test and check up and to check if her meds are fine.

if your child is healthy then there is no real need to take the child to a paed, a GP is fine.

My Son now 17months has been 3 times - last time was at 12months when he had to be circumcised due to an slight infection.

Private hospital and the nurses where terrible, I wanted to klap the one nurse it was having a fat chat while re-dressing my son after his surgery, he screamed like hell all the time looking into my eyes, worse day of my life EVER.

Same, only take the kids when things become serious and medication from the house doctor does not appear to help.

i can't remember taking my 2 and a half year old to the paeds at all. and my elder child probably only about 3 times if that.

Kids go to the paeds as many times as you can afford it ;)

My 5yr old son sees his one about 3-4 times a year and my youngest has only been twice (she is nearly 2). Depends on the general health of your child and any problems.
