how to activate 2 soundcards

Windows by its self will not run two soundcards, not even if you change the soundcards with different cards for playback and record - you have to have a program that will allow you to run more than on card

What exactly are you trying to do? Maybe there is a proggie that I know of that will do what you want

Yes. I do it when I DJ. One card is for prelisten. The other goes to the speakers. When you use software like PCDJ Red and onward it will actually allow you to mix better with software built for two cards.

Its this reason why i want both to work the onboard and the pci one,for dj

Its all good but now i get the error device not present when i start winamp,and the error mesage say i must go to configurator ,what now
Is there no easty way.what software to us.
 
have you tried changing the default sound card in Windows

Which version of Winamp?

I use onboard sound together with an SB Live! 5.1 without the slightest hassles.

Configure the BIOS so that "Plug 'n Play OS" is 'Yes', disable the onboard game port if you're not going to use that for external hardware and install all the drivers. It seems as if this has been done.

PC DJ Red is great for using the 2 cards.

In Windows, you can go to the Audio panel and choose which of the 2 controllers you prefer to use for default audio in Windows: either the onboard one r your soundcard. This is just so that the normal sounds and your games etc will use that one. The other controller should still work fine.

In WinAmp, press "Ctrl-P" for Preferences, then Plugins/Output and select DirectSound Output, then click on Configure. Either use the "Primary Sound Driver", so that WinAmp's output goes to the controller which you told Windows to use, or else choose the one which you want WinAmp to always use.

Shouldn't give you too many hassles :D
