Okay, so I connected up my new PC to my 32" Samsung LCD HDTV. It was all fine until a couple of hours ago when I decided to go and fiddle with the TV settings to see if I could fine tune the picture. I selected "image reset" and the whole screen shifted to the right. Now no matter what I do there is a 2cm black bar on the left and a 1cm bar on the bottom. (So I'm also missing 2cm on the right and 1cm on the top)

How do I get rid of this and reset the picture? I tried ATI Catalyst Converter but it doesn't help and adjusting the settings on the TV wont help too! I'm using 1360x768 the native resolution of the TV.

Let's see how we can help. First off, why did you select Image Reset without checking the manual - this should reset all setting to the factory defaults :D

The native resolution for this TV is 1,366 x 768 (not 1360 x 768) - is this what your output is from the graphics card - if not, then you'll need to change it?

- How is the TV connected to the PC - VGA (D-Sub), HDMI cable, DVI, etc?
- What is the model number of the TV? Is it a LA32A450?

Have a look in the user manual and check if there is an auto adjust setting.

If connected via HDMI or DVI via an HDMI adapter, both the TV and PC MUST be switched off BEFORE connecting or disconnecting, otherwise you can run into trouble and bugger up your TV or Graphics Card. Try turning both off, disconnecting the cable that connects them, then power up both. Reset the TV. Power off both. Connect the cable again. Power up the tv, then the PC. Adjust where necessary.

2. Select the required option by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button, then press the ENTER button.
3. When you are satisfied with your setting, press the ENTER button.

♦ Auto Adjustment
Auto adjustment allows the PC screen of set to self-adjust to the incoming PC video signal. The values of fine, coarse and position are adjusted automatically.

Easy Setting
1. Press the TOOLS button on the remote control.
2. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select “Auto Adjustment”, then press the ENTER button.

♦ Screen Adjustment:
Coarse/Fine
The purpose of picture quality adjustment is to remove or reduce picture noise. If the noise is not removed by Fine-tuning alone, then adjust the frequency as best as possible (coarse) and Fine-tune again. After the noise has been reduced, re-adjust the picture so that it is aligned on the center of screen.
Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Coarse" or "Fine", then press the ENTER button.
Press the ◄ or ► button to adjust the screen quality.
Press the ENTER button.

Position
Adjust the PC’s screen positioning if it does not fit the TV screen.
Press the ▲ or ▼ button to adjusting the Vertical-Position. Press the ◄ or ► button to adjust the Horizontal-Position. Press the ENTER button.

Image Reset
You can replace all image settings with the factory default values.

I'd already tried everything of the above and went through the manual. The screen just wont shift that last 2cm to the left with the position feature. Am connected via D-Sub cable.
