Hi guys,

I want to know if anyone has any knowledge if there is a program out there thats automatically uploads downloaded files to a central lan server.

The reason i ask this is because where i am, we currently have close to 20 ppl on the wifi network and its starting to cause problems ( especially when gaming ) when people are pulling from our individual machines and also some times its hopping over more than 3 ap's so its clogging up each individual pipe that its running on.

Now what we want to do is have a roughly central based server which will hold all the files that has been downloaded but instead of having to copy and paste onto its hard drive we want to try have something that will auto-upload anything that we download.

Is this possible?
Hope it makes sense

Thanks,

could just schedule a batch to move files in a certain directory to central server every few hours or at night...?

Have a look at something such as Second Copy You can set it up to copy certain folders at specified times to remote locations...

So configure it to copy a C:\Downloads folder from your pc to your central server, and then it should copy everything in your Downloads folder at the chosen time. Just make sure you stick your downloads in one place!

The other suggestion would be to configure bandwidth throttling on the FTP Servers during "gaming time" - Some of our guys have chosen this option...
