After many Xbox 360 owners reported scratched discs as a result of tilting their consoles between the horizontal and vertical positions, the guys at Llama.com decided to run an investigation.

Having experienced themselves a disc scratch twice, the Llama guys disassembled the Xbox 360 disc drive, a Hitachi-LG GDR-3130L, and upon inspecting the unit they found the potential cause for this problem.
