Data of Indian users is being sold for about Rs 1.5 lakh on the so-called dark web.

I would be enormously surprised if it's not happening. And it won't just be Truecaller but their users that have access to your contact details including name and phone number.

“The team has been investigating the matter and has found that a very large percentage of the sample data does not match or is not Truecaller data,” the Swedish company said.

Yeah more FUD.

I am not registered on Truecaller but I use it all the time to check names associated with phone numbers.
