How to cancel your Vodacom contract...

Reminds me of a manager of mine who was trying to get his local municipality to do something they should do after it has been raised with them. It was something simple like change a street light bulb or something, but they were dragging feet and not responding to requests. So, he setup an auto mailer that mailed a whole bunch of people every hour, on the hour, for days on end until someone contacted him and asked him to stop emailing them. He said he would oblige their request when they did what they were obliged to do...

Another option you can try in store is ask them to convert the number into a 4U month to month contract. There is no monthly fee on this contract. Only pay if there is usage (expensive if you do use it). It is available on my system as a migration...not sure if it is on the C3D system which the stores use.
Does that remove Vodacom from your credit report?
Just call 0821958
This is how I done it, although, it takes while to sit through the retention BS, though.

I've had several contracts and never had an issues cancelling..sure they try to keep u by offering you a great deal..but if you adamant they will cancel..I have one that I'll be cancelling in April..will update on whether it waz seamless or not

I am trying to cancel a R192 contract, sim only, no device. I received a cancelation quotation for R2800. The article says we "raise their query directly with us to investigate and resolve". Who can I contact at Vodacom to resolve this (email / phone) since their Early Cancelation department & 0821958 says the quotation is "generated by a machine" and there is nothing they can do.

The quotation has R0,00 under section B (device or equipment cost).

So Vodcrooks is basically giving a middle finger to the ruling of the Consumer council. The penalty is suppose to be only one months premium.
All you can do is to call 0821958 again and insist on escalating the query.

My inlaws data contract is nearing it's end (last 3 months of the contract), can they cancel without penalty or would it be easier to just wait out the 3 months?

They want to switch to fibre, which recently became available on their street.

If your parents got a device; You can call in advance and tell them when the term ends to cancel the contract. If not, tell them you are cancelling and give them 1 Calender month notice

Wow, now I am sitting here trying to cancel a vodacom data sim that my late father used.
My sympathies. :crying: Vodacom does have a procedure in place for this. Please see below for the guided journey.

First try the path of least resistance, and if that fails, kick it into overdrive and engage the afterburner.

But that will cost you twice as much of your time - rather proceed with a Full Scorched Earth policy from the start, every time - and in all things!

You'll be amazed at how much time it saves ...

Cancelling was seamless..phoned once month in advance..although they did try upgrade me:)
There seems to be no way to cancel without paying for another month. It's impossible to cancel right on the moment a new month starts. lol

@Vodacom
I was cold called, pressed and coerced, while i was under duress busy working, into renewing a contract for my pensioner mother, into a renewal that costs me more per month, for less data, & it's 36 months contract. by 3rd party sales companies, acting on behalf o Vodacom! I did not agree to 36 months, and I was not aware that there would be less data! I have been a loyal customer for 20 years, I have complained and escalated for weeks, only to be told there is no way to go back to your original, cheaper, more data contract.
@hellopetercom was no help! I am now paying more pm, over 36 months, and receiving less data! Vodacom are not interested in any reasoning, and just want to take your money. I will NOT renew my other 2 contracts, and I will be moving to another provider as soon as the other 2 are concluded, and I will NOT refer anyone, and I will continue to voice my discontent on every social, media platform, FOREVER! Vodacom, kiss me goodbye!

You are in control. You can say NO. I have said NO many times. Yes they use every trick in the book. Just say NO. It works, eventually:

send an email to [email protected] and you will get a response from a "senior" client liaison officer, best way to get a resolution

These guys that call on behalf of cellular service providers are fkn scum. They do not deserve a single kind word. It does not matter if it's someone "only doing their job"
