How to create a killer LTE set-up

My point was that there should already be a significant fibre network throughout (most of) the country, to work off of for FTTH services...

No, it's a lot of work (and don't forget you'd also be using South African workers). Trenching and overhead cabling down every street and and and. Need a lot of capacity (capacity means manpower, skills and the equipment).

What does it kill? Pigeons? Hadedas? Can it be repurposed for noisy neighbours? How about for family defense during Uhuru?

Thanks!
*EDIT* their map is odd. I get LTE nicely on my phone, pretty sure I can use an external antenna to get an even better signal. According to that map, no coverage in my neighbourhood.

That coverage map is specifically for the rocket towers specifically for the LTE uncapped. Normal LTE coverage may still cover your area.

Though in the earlier days of the product, people tested with a friends uncapped router and sim, and applied using an address within the coverage area. I suspect, those are the ones that got burned first when congestion/cell shrinkage affected performance.

I think there is a heck load of Fibre flowing through the country at this point in time, however most of it is probably used for support services, i.e exchange back haul, cell towers, data centres, major business units etc etc.

Ah, got it, so I only qualify for R1k for 100Gb if I'm not mistaken.

Exactly. Telkom is the only LTE provider provides even remotely affordable high volume LTE packages. The rest of the providers will bankrupt you.

Not if you only want it on prepaid while you wait for fibre. Only one that was able to offer me 200gb was cell c. All the others had no prepaid packages at that capacity.
