How to deal with Ants?

Please don't kill the ants. Just scoop them up and lay them outside in the yard. They're marvelous creatures.
 
So I sprayed the Effekto ant killer extensively on Saturday morning.
Next day the buggers were still there. I did use the correct concentration.

Went to Builders on Sunday. Bought the Nip-it.
Will use this today. Expensive tho.
The Maxforce was double the price of Nip-it

I also have crickets breeding in my house and garage.
Bought a powder (similar to blue death ant powder) for the crickets from local nursery.
Yet to try it.

If you can let me know how it works, l bought the Doom Bomb can, I think it's called that, and sprayed it in all the cracks and gaps I could see around the yard and hundreds of them ran out and died, was better for about 2 weeks but seems like it's back to how it was.
 
Efekto "ant vanish" has got the same active ingredient as nip it. And it slightly cheaper than nip it

The active ingredient Hydramethylnon "Ant vanish' 12 g/kg vs "Nip it" 10 g/kg

Necroing this.

I used NipIt last year and it worked really well, didn't see the buggers for an entire year.

A few weeks ago they started popping up again and they aren't interested in the NipIt at all anymore. I also tried the green AntTrap bait stations (away from the NipIt) and that didn't work either. Any suggestions on some other product I can try?

Came across Protek Alphatrin but it seems like I'll need to flood the nests with it as it's a liquid.

Anyone have experience with some of these products too?

Nip it is excellent.
Be careful if you have pets.
 
I use the blue-death powder... Works for a while, but need to reapply after rain. Pets no longer a problem.
The best solution seems to be to minimise food for them to find. We pack dishes etc. into the dishwasher and clean surfaces after every meal. We still see the occasional scout, but hardly ever an army.

Pets no longer a problem?
Meaning they were a problem, then due to the blue death powder they "stopped being a problem" since they "have been taken care of"?

Lol. After posting I wondered if it'd read that way.
But no. We had two 19 year old cats; brothers, and when kidney disease got the one, the other gave up on life and followed weeks later. :(

Clearly saying 'pets no longer a problem' acknowledges that I realise using blue death while having pets is a problem.
I acknowledged how it can be read.
I don't care what you do. That you would go so far as to accuse people of killing their cats when the misread has already been acknowledged says a lot about you. We're done.
