How to defeat ISIS

You did, you said it was simple.
If they grow a pair...

Nope not really, they can hide a hose pipe under the sand and transport this stuff in civilian cars. You wont properly cut off oil supply with just airstrikes, to do that you need to control the ground. Besides oil isnt their only revenue, they make taxes off a few million people and make upwards of $200 million a year on wheat.
Bombing is not pointless.

But you can at least stop them from selling off Syrian oil to fund their nefarious activities.

Not when they control the territory & oil fields, you also have to look at the buyers.

Yes, but they can't control the territory if they've been chased off and some other force is in physical control of the territory. At that point ISIS loses access to the oil. "Defeating" ISIS in this context means destroying their ability to assert control over any significant amount of territory. They hold large swathes of Syria and Iraq at the moment and the only way that's changing is with guns and armies.

Make up your mind.
Do you struggle to comprehend that the plan is simple but difficult to implement?

Yeah it really is if you don't have a competent ground force. ISIS will be defeated by a competent ground force, supplemented by airstrikes.
It is not pointless if it works in reducing profits for ISIS. No person is going to successfully argue that bombing is pointless in that sense.

It remains highly improbable. The Americans have retreated from Syrian airspace almost entirely, and the Russians are no longer telling anyone about their flight paths, so far as I know. And I would be highly surprised if the Russians don't make absolutely certain that they stay within Syrian airspace at all times.
I wouldn't discount it.

So long as Russia continues to bomb oil transport vehicles inside Syria, there's not much Turkey can do besides watch. Unless they do something totally bat**** insane, but at that point NATO will probably tell Turkey that it's on its own, and I doubt Erdogan's precarious political position would allow him to pull such a stunt anyways.
Europeans are feckless and PC. I'd be surprised.

The russians did really well over a decade in afganistan, not? You can kill 1000 a day the next one that pops out of the womb will be ready to fight before they even grow a beard. They will get support from neighbouring muslim countries with people arriving for jihad. Death means nothing to these people, absolutely nothing & they will gladly send their children into the conflict for the cause. Your entire outlook on this issue is 180 degrees opposed to theirs.

Do you really think European governments could justify starting World War 3 to their citizens in order to save an "ally" whom everyone knows just pulled some jackass stunt?

They're not even a professional structured military, they are a bunch of rag tag camel jockeys shooting up the place. Their numbers aren't even that great. No established army (western or me) has been able to contain them thus far, it's a joke & it's only gonna get funnier (in a sick sense). isis, isil, boko etc is only gonna grow & get stronger in future.

Either uphold NATO, get rid of Turkey, do nothing or disband NATO. Evidence suggest that Europeans won't do anything and show the world what cowards they are.

You mean aside from the Kurds, right?

Ok

It wont make any real noticeable difference on its own so in that sense it is pointless. ISIS will find other ways of getting around the strikes, they are clever like that. A lot of countries are finally starting to realise air force alone is useless against this type of enemy without a ground force. It was one of the main debating points in the British parliament when they were voting on strikes in Syria. Germany has realised this and are sending 1200 troops to at least try and gather intelligence on the ground, the US is doing something similar.

Sure but then they are effectively a guerilla force with no discernible revenue which is basically what sets them apart from other terrorist organisations. Their ability to project into Europe is also severely weakened. Also to note im not advocating an occupation force of foreign troops but local forces.

Yes, by all means. This still does not make bombing pointless. Without bombing, troops are pointless.

I think it's possible to still maintain NATO and not interfere in a minor conflict between Russia and Turkey. Nobody wants a war.

Civilians seriously dislike body bags coming home (even from my time in the old defense force).
I am gobsmacked that the West cannot turn off the arms supply. Surely they know every arms factory and smuggler.
But this is a war that can only be won by encircling them on the ground and cutting off all supplies.
And they have observation satellites.
This is a desert not a forest.
Something is amiss here.

Well quite frankly ... I am in the military vehicle armoring and personnel armor business, the medic business, the parachute business and the flame retard overall for oil workers business.

I dunno about the ISIS non customer losers, they can die for all I care, but Nato countries and Russia are my customers ... so if they want to go to war, I am happy to do the business.

And the rumour is that 40% of the US economy is based on warmongering.
With peace there they have no business.
Why do they only interfere in oil countries?
Go figure.
