Sign up with GoogleWinXP SP3, Skype v7.17.0.105 refreshed in December 2015.
Getting nag screen that Skype is ready to update. Running currently a normal user account. I musn't perhaps disabled automatic updates in Skype, so switching to the administrator account to verify settings (not available in user mode).
Nope, automatic updates are disabled, but in few seconds receiving the same nag screen. Suspecting that Skype has already downloaded copy of the installer. On Cell C LTE it would only take 20 seconds....
I was right, it is already downloaded installer v7.18.0.109.
This is not all. Actually there are two copies: one in admin temp folder, the other one in normal user temp folder.
Is any way to stop this nonsence?
