How to easily open a Master Lock in seconds

That was possibly the worst use of a crowbar I have ever seen.
Particularly liked how they eventually forced the bar in and pushed it the wrong way.
With how easily that frame bends if you push it the right way, I think you could get thru that in under 10 seconds easily.

So, this trick in the OP, does it work on all locks, or only the one shown? I tried it and it does work, but on brass padlocks, the body seems to deform and absorb the impact and it does not pop the hasp.

Any ideas?

What brand of padlock would you recommend?

Names you know like Viro , Cisa , Abloy etc. Nothing with the words Lucky, Sunshine, Very Good etc.

I have one padlock, it's not brass, this hammer thing works, the others are brass, this trick doesn't work. In the OP vid it seems like an all stainless version. Does the difference in material influence this trick?

A R30 padlock can be opened in a few seconds with a bolt-cutter costing about the same amount.
Not a big loss if only a few joints are at risk but higher value deserves better.

At school we just used a shoe to whack the padlock if you forgot your key at home. Was mostly cheapo locks though.

Again the lock is ignored. Picking the lock is silent. Drilling creates more noise, but easily opens most locks if one knows where to drill. And yes, hardened pins can be placed in the lock to stop that, but only the really top end locks have that.

Even NATO realised that locks were not a safeguard, and had Tamper Indicating locks fitted to filing cabinets.

You can have a really strong safe, but the locking mechanism comes down to a small piece of steel in the middle of the levers.

Trelidoors are great in persuading potential criminals to go to your neighbour instead of you. A determined thief will open them through the lock.

No! Master keys will only open locks which are in the relevant Master Key Suite. Skeleton keys will open a range of locks, but require some manipulation to get them to work.

Watch your hinges too....lots of hinges pins can be knocked out with a gewone 4" nail.

I have some experience opening locks with picks .
In my experience it is not easy to open a half decent lock ,if it is manufactured decently and has one or more mushroom pins in the mechanism .

The first image is a normal pin in a lock the second is a mushroom pin in a lock , this is the one that is designed to defeat picking .

The mushroom stops the cylinder turning. Dose nothing if the cylinder is bypassed completely, as I said in my first post.

Why bother cutting the lock when you can more easily cut the latch (or whatever it's called)? This happened to us one night when someone got into our complex and popped all the garages open, leaving all the unopened locks lying on the floor >.<
