So do I shut down, plug my monitor into my motherboard input and then run into bios? Or do I have to disable my graphics card in the bios first?

Which motherboard do you have?

There is usually a section under Integrated Peripherals that will let you to enable or disable the setting.
On some boards, the setting is under the Advanced BIOS Features section under the Init Display First setting - this should be set to OnChip VGA (or similar)

as long as it wasn't disabled it should work fine...

Actually i think it will automatically activate if you take out the agp...

What is wrong? Have you tried to start the pc without the agp and just plugged it into the board?

I am trying to see if my graphics card's drivers are corrupt.. So I want to boot with on board graphics

just take off the agp then and start your pc that way. although the best way to know if the drivers are corrupt will be to reinstall the drivers...

What are the symptoms that makes you think they are corrupt?

I have a Gigabyte G31M-S2L

I don't know where to go :?

Have a look in your motherboard manual towards the back-half - it covers the BIOS settings and should be under the Advanced BIOS Features
On most Gigabyte motherboards, you need to hit CTRL and F1 to get to the advanced BIOS features sections.

IIRC my old board allowed me to run both at the same time... that was a LONG time ago.

I've never disabled my onboard graphics...always just plugged in my graphics card.

Taken from pages 39-41 of the user manual for the G31M-S2L:

Init Display First
Specifies the first initiation of the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card, PCI Express graphics card or the onboard VGA.
- PCI Sets the PCI graphics card as the first display. (Default)
- Onboard Sets the onboard VGA as the first display.
- PEG Sets PCI Express graphics card as the first display.
