Is there a more cost effective way of getting Fibre to my house, if there's a backhaul running through my driveway?
As an introverted individualist that likes the anonymous life online, running community campaigns isn't quite my thing, and despite that, I'm trying hard to get FNO's interested to do last mile FTTH here and having as many people as possible filling in feasibility forms (got 80+ now) etc... No luck yet, but fingers crossed, I'm pretty desperate.
Local ISP said they can provide me FTTB on the Link Africa backhaul, starting at R2000 for 10mbps // R5100 for 100mbps, which isn't too bad, but at the same time, it feels a bit like a rip off considering areas with proper FTTH can get 100mbps+ for the much cheaper. Economies of scale innit.
I know, FTTB comes with extra guarantees, SLA, low contention and all that jazz, but surely there must be some other way as an individual consumer to get something a bit more worthwhile?
