Hi,

I have an old laptop lying around with these specs:

Intel Core Duo 1.60GHz
512MB DDR2 RAM (used to be a GB but Other stick broke)
60GB Hard Drive
Nvidia GeForce Go 7400
LCD Screen

I would like to install XP, but I do not have a dvd or cd drive on this laptop. Is it possible to install from a flash drive?

When you use this make sure to not use the wizard and change the formatting setting.

Use advanced mode, go to format and change FAT32LBA to FAT16LBA. If you do not do this Windows XP will take ages to install, whereas it will go super fast on FAT16LBA.

Sorry, we have no any solution. This is BIOS problem and we can't fix it now.

No this is not a bios problem, I experimented for a while and after a few times I realized what the problem was.

To install Windows XP under the "Format" tab you must chose "Fat16 LBA" not "Fat32 LBA"

When I created a USB Flash Drive with "Fat16 LBA" the installation was very fast, it only took 16 min on one of my desktop.

This is a great program.

indeed. i have also eee pc 4g, 8 hours for 30 % now with "Fat16 LBA" 20% in 2 minutes
