Since I am not in SA my Cell C sim is mostly used to receive messages from SA.

Just wanted to confirm how do I make sure that I keep this number active? Does a R5 recharge every 2 months work?
or sending a single SMS every 2 months?

Hi whatwhat,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

To keep your number active, you need to recharge every 30-60 days, so you are currently on the right track. Please PM us the number in question so we can check if the number is active.

It's active as I'm currently still receiving messages on it. But I obviously don't want to lose it as I'm overseas.
Just did a transfer now so it should be ok, will PM the number just incase.

Doing a monthly 2 second phone call to another number would also be ok? Since that would be a billable amount going off?

Yes, it will be okay.

If you keep up both measures, your number will remain active.

While I'm waiting for the wifi calling to be sorted out, can you retain your number by just recharging and not using any credit? Since WiFi calling isn't working anymore and international roaming isn't supported on prepaid sims, I have no way to actually use the sim cards.
