How to make my HDD one partition?

Hi guys,
I am getting my 1.5TB HDD tomorrow so I am gonna be moving all my stuff to that and leaving my 300GB just for OS! But my 300GB is partitioned(40GB OS,260 Other)... in Disk Management it wont let me delete/shrink the one partition to extend/add to the other and this is really irritating as I dont want a 40GB partition!

I have tried to use Partition Magic but it doesnt pick up the partitions. If need be.. I have another PC to put it in if I have to do a full format... just I am desperate.

OK, so.. you get the new drive and plug it in as a secondary drive. Format it and copy all your data stuff and everything you want to backup. When you are positive that you have saved all that you will need, then remove it.
Then use Paragon Partition Manager to resize the partitions on the 300gb. If you screw up or it does not work you can always re-format completely. But I am pretty sure Paragon will handle the re-sizing of that drive into one for you.

If you can't find a "temporary" version of Paragon, then try this one...

with all of these you might have to create the bootable CD as they will not allow you to resize the active partition while it is in use.

Okay thanks... I will find a temp version of it and delete before 24 hours :D
 
Don't ever use partition magic... say bye bye to your data if it crashes in the middle of partitioning. The safest I've found is gparted - just get a gparted image (linux bootable cd) from the net.
 
Defragment the partition you're shrinking before you try to resize it.

Not having done that could cause issues when trying to work with them.
