Hi MYBB

I have a pool pump with 4 circuit breakers. I would like to control each circuit breaker independently through wifi. Any suggestions for products to make this pool pump smart?

Thank you

You'd have to elaborate regarding "smart"
Buzzwords have very little going for them since it's used to envelop a whole host of things

aka "How long is a piece of string"

Interested as to why you have 4 circuit breakers on the pool pump? What do they do and what would you want them to do if they were "smart"?

Ive used a sonoff POW to replace the manual timer and give me power usage for my pump. Also used a sonoff basic for the LED light control

Same - been working fine for years.
same here - have a Sonof POW controlling the pump and a Sonof basic for the pool light.

If only i could automate the pool filter selector!

If you can take and upload a pic of your DB board i'm sure we can point you in the right direction :)

Going to semi-hijack this thread...
I want to do the same thing - have a Sonoff POW for the job.
Can anyone tell me where to wire it on this DB?Pool1.jpg

Really not trying to be rude, but if you have to ask then perhaps it's better to get someone a bit more experienced to assist you.

In short though - you'll essentially want to remove the timer, so power going TO the timer goes into the POW and power going FROM the timer to the pool pump goes to the outputs on the POW.

This is what mine look look...

And also found these at the pool pump.

Only moved in here in March this year, so still picking up all the things in need of fixing as I go along.

An automated pool filter selector is a bad idea

Why?

Even though i have replaced the sand a few months ago, the filtration stops after 2hours - a 30 sec backwash clears it after which the pool filters again nicely for 2h or so.
At the moment i have to manually go and stop the pump, change the filter selection to backwash, start pump, wait 30 sec, stop pump, put filter selection back to filtration, then start pump again.
If i could automate this that would save a lot of my time + i could filter the pool when i am not at home :-)

This - exactly what I did.

you are just hack fixing a bigger problem, fix it properly, sounds like you have a suction leak.

you also shouldnt backwash with your cleaner plugged in for example.

Suction leak? can you point me in the right direction how to diagnose?

the black cable there is your pump. if you follow this guide it should work for you, take out the timer switch completely.

note the red/black X through the timer was just means to be a cross out, not wiring.

Essentially, the earth bar get connected to the eart on the sonoff, the earth of the pump to the other earth.
The bottom of the circuit breaker that is going to the timer now instead goes to the input side of the sonoff live. that black neutral goes to the input side N.

The brown from the pump goes to the load live. the blue from the pump goes to the other N

when your pump is running, after the cleaner stops moving, is there a lot of air (pocket of air) in the pump basket?
