How to patch?

Im pulling my hair out in frustration at Blizzard mental retardness and its patches.

Every mirror I try to patch up (I have to patch up from 2.4.3).. fails after XYZ time. You start the download a little while later (like 10-40% of the way into the file).. the download fails.

Either with "unknown server error" or "server requires authentication" (when it didnt earlier).

Does anyone know a clean workable way to download all the patches from 2.4.3 onwards?

Every mirror or way I have tried fails after a while This is pretty stupid. Blizzard are so freeken cheap they cant even host their own files with the millions they make off us.

If you have the Lick King cd, you can patch till 3.0.
Otherwise just google for the patches and download from non blizzard servers?

Easier still is to just ask someone to mail you the patches
Cheaper too.

Im in Manila, it might be harder than that.

Can I used the US client on the EU servers? I can see there are a couple of places I can download with torrents... but I think theyre all US... if I download the US wotlk DVD will I have hassles?

Nope you won't have a problem. I used a US patch a while ago and worked fine.
Just don't forget to change the realmlist file.

Thanks, I found an EU copy of the game on the piratebay.

So basically this should work?

1) I installed original WOW with the initial trial cd I got.
2) I installed TBC from the DVD I purchased ... but for many different reasons couldnt patch up.
3) I am going to install WotLK which should update me to a more modern updater where hopefully I can use their P2P client to update the last couple of patches?

Yep should work fine.
Installing WotLK has the major 3.0 patches. (2.4 to 3.0 if I'm not mistaken)
After that think its less than 1/2 a gigabyte for the rest.

The patches from 3.0 to 3.2 is over 2Gb, with the 3.1 and 3.2 content patches being the biggest.

It largely depends on whether the WotLK version is 3.0.1 or 3.0.2. I can't recall exactly which one it is when installing from the disc. From 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 is 631MB. 3.0.9 to 3.1 is 880Mb and 3.1.3 to 3.2 is 469Mb. All of the intermediary patches (3.0.2 - 3.0.9 and after 3.2) is about 140Mb.
