How to pick the perfect printer

The solution is to stop printing as a whole and find ways to make that possible.

There is no such thing as a good printer. They are all garbage.
I can't agree more.
It's 2020. I see no reason why digital signing can't be the norm and dropping the requirement of physical documents.

Unfortunately things like contracts, RICA, FICA etc. still rely on 'original copies' of documents.

I'm glad we have a printing shop in my area. I don't see myself investing in a printer just to print once a year, if at all.

While many “claim” it’s required it often actually isn’t or enforced.

I haven’t needed to print anything at all in the last 5 years that had the supposed legal requirements.

Rica’d FNB and Rain without any printing. Have moved investments and changed banks and chanted medical aids etc without printing either.

Sure likely someone else would need to print it but as an end user it’s more often than not irrelevant.

But yeah investing in a printer is almost never worth it.

It’s just that they are all supremely backwards products that simply haven’t progressed into the modern world.

The very same issues that always existed still do and are simply taken as acceptable.
Agreed, I worked for Xerox back in 2001, the same problems still exist now, that existed in 2001

I've had a few 'if you don't provide the copies, we won't deliver scenarios' recently.
So that's how I know some places still require it.

I haven't updated FICA in a while. I bet the same would be there too.

That said. The times I did need to print anything was handled by someone else.
I won't invest in a printer to only watch the ink dry.

Yeah like I said it’s mostly backwards companies enforcing things that don’t need enforcing due to their own backwards thinking.

Care to name who this was?

No prizes for me if I do unfortunately.
Haha.
I'll keep them untarnished in the printer thread for now.
Great service received otherwise.
