Moving soon, need to remove the dish myself.

Any special instructions? Or would a monkey with a screwdriver be able to remove it?

Edit: Google didn't help

Undo the bolts.
Remove the dish.
Fill the holes.
Don't fall off.

You can also tie it to a long rope, tie the other end of the rope to your car, and drive off.

Just don't go all Pretoria-West and try that with a palm tree ;)

But on the other hand, it's a fixture, so you're not allowed to remove it, if you've sold the house.

:D Thanks for pointing the last part out, wouldn't have known not to.

Any specific way to remove the cables?

They connect to the LNB with BNC connectors if I remember right. So turn and pull.
release them from any clips/cable ties

Still don't fall off.

^ This

I was upset when I moved house and the previous owners removed their dish while I left mine.

cables connect with f-connectors, simply unscrew and then pull out. should be a 12mm bolt heads so a 12mm spanner will do the trick. Maybe just take a shifting spanner up in case. a rope will help, tie it to the dish and use it to lower the dish and bracket, so that you don't have to climb down a ladder whilst holding a dish. I wouldn't bother pulling the cables out. Murphy's law will see to it that they are not long enough for your next installation.

Yeah, meant removing cables from the dish alone, will leave them and install new ones.

Also, interesting fact, the dish at the new place was also removed by previous tenants.

Correct, it's a fixture. Yet people don't seem to care and just take it off anyway :(

When I moved into my unit two years ago, the body corporate of the complex made the previous tenant leave his dish behind. He was told to claim the cost back from the owner of the unit. I would think that the same should apply here.
