Hi all,

Need to find out something regarding my picantos keys, as i recently swapped ecu's
And now i have 2x ecu that don't work and 3x keys that don't start my car,

I need to know what i can do here?

2x keys will open the lock physically becuse the car came with them,
But since ecu swapped wont start the car,
Anyway to reprogram them?
I heard on a ford focus possible if you cycle the key to ACC 10x

Anything similar to that exist here?
Also as i have 1 key now that start but wont physically open the door ( if the battery dead)

Is it possible to swap around the folding metal bit?

You can move the transponders between keys, yes.
Probably easier to ask your dealer to code the keys into the ecu though.

So you got the car going again?

Yip, eventually after a month and a half of pain and suffering, and 2x dead ECUs that were misdaignosed as working

Sometimes if you don't fix it yourself, I'll will NEVER get fixed, i literally took leave to sort my sh*t out as i coudnt take it any longer with kia simply ignoring me, and the entire tiny garage where my car was parylised as they can't work on any other car as mine
They coudnt understand what's wrong with it

So now i have 2x complete sets of ecu's plus some weird box that says built for rsa rhd
And another tiny tiny box, about the size of a matchbox that apparently reads the codes, 4x items for each set,

Funny thing is i now got 5x keys, only one that starts and my 2x original set only opens the door if there no battery for the Cl to work.

Wondering if its possible to add keys now?
Without going to the dealer that is......

Heard someplace its possible by cycling the ignition 10x but would love to confirm from somebody else,

Doubt it very much. The immobiliser is a security thing. There will be secure protocols around coding new transponders to it.

Very happy you got wheels again, don't lose that fking key.

Thanks for all your and mybb fourimites help,

I do definetly appreciate the assistance provided here

As for the immobiliser thing, isn't there a way to take apart keys? Or what i once saw,

A Guy has 2 identical ford focus, and he show how to be able to start both with 1 key,

So in his case, he cycles on and off the key 10x to acc, then car hoots twice saying its in reprogrammed mode, then starts with another key,

Think i saw it on hack my life......
Was wondering if its possible to do here?

Seems it is actually possible to do;
www.diagwiki.com/key-coding-information

Need the program obviesly and need the connector to the car, got elm327 and a Bluetooth laptop,

Should be enough right? To add another key to the car....

Anybody done anything like this before? Seems if you know a bit of IT and have the right tools, you can be a car thief:D

Not necessarily. The ELM327 doesn't do everything (eg: airbags)

Sure? As i saw somebody clear the codes and airbags light before with it,

Wonder if its possible to download this software myself?
100%. I had an ELM327 and the full Merc STAR Diagnostic and couldn't do more than engine checks

So not possible?, as i saw somebody got a program called hicom and that apparently allows programming of keys, for Hyundai's and kia's

Although looks like it uses a diffrent obd module to connect to the car.....
One with a USB port on its own,

Shame would have been cool to add my own keys to the car, guess i gotta spend cash for somebody to add keys for me...

If it were that easy to add keys your car would get stolen all the time.

Same with Toyota's and Lexus'. OBDII cable needed and some balls of steal

is it enough with a ELM327 BT connection though?

I mean whats the difference between the USB models and the BT models, they should all work exactly the same right?
so theoretically its possible to program your own set of keys;

Official cables probably have special chips in, VAG based cars for example all use the same cable, you can get cheap versions that don't really work but if you're lucky there may be copies that have the chip in and they usually come with cracked software that cant be updated or it wont work.
