Yep. Like I said, all other devices connected to router are working fine. Definitely a laptop thing. And about a month ago, this laptop was working perfectly with the router.
Will try suggestions from @IamNoone and @Mike Angelo and will keep you all posted

yeah but did you connect the laptop directly to the router? You are not testing the routers wifi, you are testing if its your laptops wifi card/driver.

gotcha. When I run the cable from my router to my laptop, speeds are good and immediate

I checked. driver's up to date. At the moment, after running netsh winsock reset and then uninstalling and reinstalling driver, it seems to be not as sletchy as before. There is some instability on my line at the moment. So I'm just watching for a bit. Thanks

Try a different router. I know other devices are working, but I had similar issues with an older wifi router and swapping it out solved the issue.

A router is a router. ADSL modem is a different thing. Unless its a modem and router, but then just add a router with a fixed line to the modem.
