How to save a dying forum !

So I was wrong, this is my 2nd post.
Problem:
How do you save / revitalise a dying forum ?
Solution:
You launch a competition with the following criteria :-
Post your “Question and answer” or “Problem and solution” in this forum
Multiple entries are allowed
Reply to an existing thread to add value to the answer, solution
Important: Please only post “real” and original content – the purpose is not to duplicate existing content online.

I guess I don't really have a chance of winning anything now, do I ? ;-)

I am completely confused by this post what dying forum are you wanting to revitalize?
is their a day spa or yoga forum that is in need of some omph?

Boosting Google Results ≠ "dying forum".... things like this promote GROWTH.

@OP, there are two other forums I used to frequent. They are dying, a slow... horrible death.

myBB is the opposite, so yeah, I doubt they're trying to "save" the forum - as it doesn't need saving.

If you run a competition and award prizes, they have to be paid for. The Cape Computer Club's forum has been going for 3 years without really taking off and will probably close. No new members in 5 months indicates no interest IMO

You cannot force people to submit posts

OK, I'll admit, in retrospect I actually can't even remember the number of times I googled something in the past and got directed to an answer in MyBB ;-)

Shame how awful those people must feel, losing their forum friends.

If you're a member perhaps direct them here? Just a suggestion. If they keep the same user names they'll feel quite at home.

See if you can get a afrihost business account, yes, they are a R100 more for, say the 1mb account, but its unshaped and unthrottled.
