How to setup Rasberry Pi 2 and Kodi (Help needed)

Hi

My one media player packed up in the bedroom.

So it is time to replace the box.
We do not watch to much tv there so nothing special is needed.
I have a media centre that contains all the stored media on a server.
In the entertainment area we have kodi + Netflix setup.
In the little ones bedroom isa roku that is runnig plex from the server.
So I have looked at all the options and think that the Rasberry Pi 2 will be the device that will suite our needs.

I will purchase the Pi + a blank SD card to load up all the software that is required.
So is there any tutorial here or can you point me to a site where it is is fairly easy to setup the kodi player on the Pi.

Is it as simple as just download the openelec software from the Kodi page and install and run the setup?
My server is a windows box so I do realize there would be some sort of samba shares.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yup, it is

Does not matter what OS you run, there are tools for Windows, Mac and Linux to copy the image to your SD card.

Very easy, download openelec and write to sdcard. For me NFS worked best. I use hanewin nfs server on my windows box and setup the nfs shares via autostart.sh script on the pi.

Seeing as how you are already running a Plex server, why don't you try Rasplex on the Pi?

Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exe (got it from one of the sites openlec or kodi..?)
and
Kodi image file for raspberry Pi 2

then loaded the kodi image onto the sd card with win32diskimager, thats it....

PS: you need a mouse or keyboard connected to the Pi for it to load..

I am really not a fan of plex interface.
It helps allot with the roku but I enjoy the easy navigation of Kodi more(just a personal opinion)

Cool I have the Diskmanager downloaded and will get openlec on the sd card, I see there is a link from the kodi site.

Bought this bundled with the RPi but I'm sure the interwebs will have many options ! The flip side has a qwerty which makes typing easier
