Think you can but it will run at the slower card's speed. If I remember correctly the newer drivers made this possible

BTW why bother with SLI? Just get one decent high-end card

I have a SLI ready mb and my money is in short supply
and if i do it should i put the 8600gt 1gb as master card?

ok, what will happen is you will have an sli system, only problem is it will only run with 512mb memory, but that's not to bad as those gpu's won't use up all 512mb let along a gig
but you can

Yes - the 1gb should be the master. Do you have an adequate PSU for this?

If you have 2 8600gt maybe sell them and get 1 decent card (8800gt or up)?

Check this forum's classifieds - shouldn't be too hard to locate one

jes,but I only have 1 card,the 8600gt 512 mb
must the cards be of the same brand name? or can I use a Forsa and a Asus?

sell what you have and add your 2nd cards money for a propper ATi Radeon.

haha sell and get one decent high-end card? oky you talkt me in to it.thanx man
