How to stop DA SMSes and calls

Well the DA is the only party going above and beyond for my vote.

Not one ANC call.

I received a EFF pamphlet in my gateway thou

My wife typed in "stop" and the response was immediate, polite and worked.

Much more than can be said for the hundreds of other unwanted sms's she receives every single day ....

I'm voting DA, but those communications are too much. Long since reached the point of being spam. Going to try get that crap to stop now.

My wife got a call from the DA. The strangest thing was that when we got married my wife kept her surname, and never changed it to mine. She has in fact never ever used my surname at all. Her ID book, passport, bank accounts, details in the national population register, etc are still in her maiden name and always have been. And yet somehow when this person from the DA cold called her the person referred to her as Mrs XXX where XXX is my surname. Where the hell did they get their information from? The only thing that I can guess that they are getting their information from credit bureau data or some sort of Home Affairs information which are the places I can think of where they would know who she is married to.

Ja, we have tried everything to get rid of the unwanted SMS's. registered with the sites suggested, contacted MTN, laid a complaint with everyone we can think of. Given up ......
Last resort is when the contract expires at the end of August, so will the subscription. She already has another phone and sim card ready and waiting to be activated , not on MTN.....

There's an easy way. When receiving a spam sms, just block the number. You will never receive an sms from that nr again.

Late yesterday/early today/21016-07-22, My wife and I both received SMS messages from the ANC ...

The message contains NO opt-out option at all, and attempts to get through to the ANC to STOP the message fails.

So who is following IEC rules the best? certainly NOT the ANC.
