How to stop Windows 10 from installing automatically

Hey MS, gimme a SSD, and then I will upgrade... Pillocks !

why do people don't want to upgrade to windows 10 , if you could give some reasons then it would make sense , its like not upgrading to the latest Android OS or even the latest iOS ..

Don't need to give any reasons. I don't want it at this time. When they sort out the bugs I'll give it a go in a few years.

The article do not state that:

1. Once you receive such notification, copy of Windows 10 is already downloaded wasting your limited data bundle.

2. Once you upgrade to Windows 10 you can't stop upgrading Windows 10 itself. Windows 10 Home users have no such chance, Pro users will spend hours trying to stop updates. What more... on every update you made, your custom configuration will be removed from the system.

I have been running MS software since 3.1/Workgroups and I have only seen such weird unfixable /non-workaround issues with Win10

Audio apps locking up.
System and App freeze.
File associations un-setting themselves.
Bizarre never seen before graphics artifacts.

This was on a medium age desktop, a new spec desktop, a brand new notebook and an old notebook. Acer, HP, Gibabyte and Asus, Nvidia etc hardware, with various different software such as GOM, Foobar2000 and Winamp, Office 97, 2000, 2007, to name but a few.

Like I said... I have never seen such a ballsup in my 20 years of running MS OS's... Win7 it is till they get this sorted.

1) Running bespoke software that only works on Win 7.
2) Happy with Windows 7 alone.
3) lack of newer drivers for older hardware
4) Fear of Windows 10 invasion of privacy
5) Just don't like being told what to do
6) Prefer the visual appearance of Win 7
7) Don't want the hassle of re-configuring your software to your liking
8) etc.

Samsung: Don't install Windows 10. REALLY

Samsung is advising customers against succumbing to Microsoft’s nagging and installing Windows 10.

The consumer electronics giant's support staff have admitted drivers for its PCs still don’t work with Microsoft's newest operating system and told customers they should simply not make the upgrade.

Only thing i havent been able to stop was the Automated reboots from updates. Win 10 is quite stable on my old Sony VAIO laptop clean install with an SSD, Dell desktop not so happy on Win 10 upgrade especially Graphics Drivers.
