Secondly if you need low latency the Chromecast is an absolute no go. One particular example is if you intend using the device along with Moonlight for game streaming from another gaming PC in the house. It's great that you can convert your phone into a powerful console and sit on the couch to game with a controller - except don't bother with a Chromecast.

That is quite obvious. Casting via a wifi connection can never be as good as a HDMI cable. The story is about turning your phone into a PC, not a gaming console/machine.

I am definitely going to try this. I want to check how casting works with Google Docs, with and without Sentio.

Sorry, but can do what? Have a cable connection to the TV? The article only referred to using cables for other peripherals like keyboard and mouse.
 
can you vmware / stream windows OS to the device instead of Android OS?

Those numbers are probably made up with Android tablets as well.

next step is to remove the concept of smartphones and we just use digital watches again.
 
When phones are powerful enough to run photoshop/illustrator, mail app, music app, and a browser with twenty tabs open, comfortably and all at the same time, only then will true convergence begin. Next will be the phones capability to also run latest games. Then the cutover from multiple interfaces will begin in earnest. It's just a time thing.

+1 at this stage batteries and device spec is holding things back
Will eventually happen, but not right now,

Have yet to understand Chromecast, does it cast to PC's? Or do you need a TV first?

Oh you mean like a normal desktop pc, which has a screen , keyboard, mouse and a schit ton of cables?
And who said anything about it being refined?
