It's the Samsung G2 external drive. I deleted everything that was on it and started re-transferring the new backup files (I do my backups manually, folder-by-folder). While transferring the last few things I got the message that there was no more space. Now obviously this was BS as it's a 640GB drive and I'd only put about 180 gigs on so far. It seemed to be including all the stuff I'd just deleted on the available space and no matter what I did I couldn't clear it up. I defragged it and shredded the free space but it made no difference. I decided I'd have to just format the entire thing, which I did. It's now showing up as totally empty which it should, but obviously the pre-loaded software is gone which I don't really care about as it doesn't even work on OSX.
Now, I can't write to the drive at all when on OSX as it shows up as read-only and I can't find any way to change it. With Windows it works just fine
F*** macs... at least sometimes
