Say I've got about 10 gigs that needs to be uploaded on a server in the states in about 4 hours, what is the best way to do that?

Are there any local services or companies that would be able to do that that you guys know of?

You could FedEx it there in 48 hours, would prolly cost you R300-400
as a couple of DVD-R's are in fact documents. Would prolly be cheaper
and maybe even more professional.

I thought about that but 48hours might be a bit long.
It'd need to be in preferably 2-4 hours.

dablakmark8: multi connection uploads would be great but how much would that cost?

Sadly... In South Africa 10gig in 4 hours is pretty impossible unless you've got ALOT of cash

4 hours would equal about 0.7Mb/s right?

700kB/s is pretty much impossible (thats almost 8MB ADSL speeds, which we don't even have for download, let alone upload) :(

Who is your provider? Corporate Account?
If you can get IS to actually react that fast, they could do it in minutes.
Problem is, for them to make any form of decision takes days.

no, they provide point-to-point connectivity using lasers. I don't think it is what you are looking for.

I think that your best bet would be to get an Tier 1 ISP to do it for you. Contact MTN-NS, Verizon and IS. I am sure one of them would be able to help you. Or even Hetzner. If they can't get the data to the US, at least they can provide you with bandwidth for someone in the US to download.

Upload it to a premium one month MegaUpload.com account via one of these First Tier ISP's (unlimited file size). Then just give the account details to your client.

10 gig in 4 hours? *gulp* someone with a satelite link perhaps? then there's still the question of getting the data to said middle-man. either way it would cost a couple grand i figure

what type of data is it ? can the client just remote into the pc where the data is stored to view it while its being sent by say Fed Ex ?

And you'll need an uninterrupted line to transfer that data.

Yes that might be the best option.
Tier 1 ISP solutions are a bit pricy.
Ok cool thanks guys, I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing out on a service like that.
