I can't wait for AI protecting stuff with drones with tranquilizer darts. Alarm gets tripped, drone gets dispatched, darts criminal scum before police/security arrive, easy arrest with video footage for court.
 
I strongly believe Nuclear Energy is a great solution.
The significant disadvantage is the capital cost to build facilities.
The operational side of it though, once finished, we could generate so much power that we might even sell some of it across the border

You live in a dreamworld if you think ANC can get nuclear done. If they cant even build coal stations?
 
The answer is simple ... a funeral I agree with everything saying this ... if it’s politically corrected
 
SA should just try and keep the wheels running on eishkom and dont bother in changing names of places. enough is enough. they have taken too much and still running us more dry. we must use our money for our own until goverment sees that the people of SA are done with corruption.

Technology isn’t the problem. The most developed, industrious countries on the planet are able to happily keep their lights on (barring natural disasters) using a combination of all the options listed. Humans are fully capable of generating enough electricity through whatever means.

Our problem is the incompetence, stealing, corruption, nepotism, lying, looting and so on. Whatever type of energy generation we pursue, it will never solve the problem, because the root problem is not the act of generating electricity.
 
Kick the politics out of the equation and introduce private enterprise. as long as a brainless politicians have fingers in the till there's no chance of keeping the 'lights on'. Coal was never the answer especially at R600 a ton, renewable energy only.
 
I would like to change my answer to this poll to: "We're going to use lavish royal funerals, birthday parties, and other distractions" :-D

Private is not the answer either (unless price regulated). Look at what's happening in texas and Cali energy price-wise or with water in Europe

Such a scam. Water prices in Europe. Up to R100.00 per kl in parts of Western Europe. R2.50 per kl in parts of Eastern Europe.
 
Lately we've been having load shedding on a daily but the state lights are burning all day, everyday_perhaps they should start switching off the lights during the day as here are people whom actually has to pay for electricity
