EDIT: Link has been removed by autotrader

So I send an email just for fun and this is the response I get. LOL.

Thank you for the interest showed in my car, and sorry for the late reply but I have just moved to United Kingdom to help my mother get trough a liver transplant operation. Don't worry though, the car is still there in South Africa, stored at a transport company. The price I am asking is R 100,000 and it includes shipping anywhere in South Africa. As I need cash really fast for this surgery the price is reduced for a fast cash sale. Because of this situation, me being in UK, I have made special arrangements that allow me to sell the car there without me being present, so if you are still interested in it please email me back so I can explain to you how can this be done safely for both of us.

Here are pictures of the car: http://postimage.org/gallery/8csj19u/

Thank you

PS: please get back to me soon as I have 3 other people very interested!

No ways. Would not go. Had a similar incident on auto trader, long story short, nearly bought a code 3, stolen polo gti. I do not trust autotrader. Dealership or GTFO

Shame guys, his mom needs a liver transplant. Don't be like that :(

I've seen many similar posts :p Usually they want you to pay through paypal or amazon or something.

Oh and also you can sometimes spot differences in the bits of the car eg it will show a euro spec car but the car is supposedly an SA car etc. And number plates will always be off.

Why no plates?
Where can you test drive it?
Who's got papers?

Scam but I suspect someone is gonna be crying soon

A4 advertised? A3 in pics?

Honest mistake, I'm sure. The poor bloke must be under a lot of pressure at the moment. I wonder which transport company the car is with? DHL? Time Freight? I hope he put a fragile sticker on the box...

That car is in Australia, Fox Fm is in Melbourne. What a chode.

Maybe he DHL'd it to SA? You guys have such little faith. After all, this guy has connections at transport companies where he can just dump the car for a while. Quite clearly he's a big honcho...

Ja shame man.
Maybe its through the Post Office. They use Speedservices so delivery will be quick and painless.

If she's in the UK legally, she can get the liver transplant done for free though. Maybe someone should let this guy know that NHS will cover her...

I'd forward the mails to Autotrader and gmail and have them blacklisted.

That's a very common scam. Read the same words being pasted around forums before.

Anything that is not dealer sale, is risky.

For first viewing meet at a petrol station.

Thereafter AA or Dekra 101 point check and make sure the plate inside the engine has never been touched, if it LOOKS like there was work done inside the front of the car, move on. Check the service hisotry, phone someone on the list and ask if it was legit. Then have the VIN/etc confirmed.

------------
Easier Way:
Pay the premium, buy from a (reputable) dealer. "Vuyo's wors and vw's" is not a reputable dealer.

This scam's been going on for years now.

Lose her address and block her from contacting you again.

Autotrader have removed the link. What an idiot. I have seen this awhile back when buying my motocross bike, same unreal deal, same bs email

Was the scammer's advertised name Ioana Martin by any chance? Was looking for a car the other day, got the same sort of reply.
