I inherited a pc at my new job with 6 usb ports, 4 at the back and two at the front, and none of them work.

I hate these no name brands....

Maybe the ports haven't been connected yet? Or are the four at the back integrated onto the motherboard (which I suspect)?

I hate brand name computers. So expensive and never quite what you want.

I actually had my USB disabled in the BIOS a while back too, it sounds likely.

Check BIOS. Check which version of OS is in use. They changed USB support quite drastically in SP2 of XP. If its 98 then you need drivers for each some devices. Reinstall the mobo drivers if you can hunt them down and nothing else works.

Oh, and make sure the HID service is running.
