I worked on this model laptop yesterday for a member of our staff, she got it with Vista Home Basic on with ther cellphone upgrade.
All in all, not a bad little laptop, though the 1 GIG of ram limits it a bit. After removing AVG and installing Service Pack 1, the system ran fairly ok. Once the Vista program cache rebuilds, it will be fine.
I found that I had to update the drivers before SP1 though, because it's the Intel 945 chipset.
As for the Microsoft UAA driver, I've seen that a few times, only on systems with integrated high definition audio.
I also hate it when you get Device Unknown in Device Manager. Can be a cow to solve sometimes.
