What OS would you recommend for this to be a media server?
I have windows 7 64 bit but see its not really supported.

Any advice would be great I want to format and start from scratch, especially want to use PLEX server.
I am using the Droid TV media player. Just FYI
Thanks

i run a headless Ubuntu 12.0 OS... with Plex/SABnzbd/Sickbeard...streaming to a Roku... works like a bomb

I'm pretty sure Windows 7 is fully supported, it's Windows 8 that requires a BIOS update.

I had no issues on the older N40L with Windows 7 64 bit

The only issue I had on Windows 8 (albeit, a major issue until I upgraded BIOS) was the Ethernet adapter that didn't work

I have run Ubuntu and Win7 on mine without problems. I tried getting Server 2012 on there and simply could not, gave up and installed Win7 again recently.

Copy paste my experience.

For me Win7 works best, I am to much of a linux no0b

I use Windows Home Server (for network backups) along with the Serviio media server.

I've tried a few OS's, all were good, but purely out of convenience I've settled on Win7 64bit- running with Kodi, Sabnzbd, Sonarr (switched from Sickbeard a week ago) and Couch Potato.
