HP ProLiant MicroServer

Yeah I still have the reciever and am going to use it with the harmony. Is it a simple setup or is it quite complicated? I know you have to go to some website so setup it up - do I need to do that even if I just want to use it for Plex and nothing else?

With XBMC you just tell the remote that it is controlling. Microsoft Media Centre remote and off you go. You just need to figure out what all the buttons do

OK cool will give this a try. I am in two minds now whether to use the harmony. I just purchased the LG 42LM6710 and on the TV it has a feature called MediaLink and the little testing I did with it works GREAT! It shows you your content just as Plex would with cover art ect so I might move my HP N40L (currently connected directly into my TV via HDMI) and use the TV as a standalone Plex Center. The only concern I might have is the Playback quality, especially my full 3D Blu Ray rips so probably just gonna stick with the N40L connected directly.

I am having a strange problem that might not be unique to the HPMS.
Since yesterday, I have noticed that my 2TB drive randomly "disappears" - not visible from 'My Computer', and doesn't even show up under drive management. Media doesn't play, and my downloads in sabnzb were having disk errors. I am running WHS2011, and nothing has changed since it started yesterday. A reboot seems to sort out the problem.
I vaguely remember having this one or twice when I was setting the server up.

Anybody seen this before? Any suggestions?

Sorry I am either stupid or am missing something. I am trying to configure my Harmony 300i to work with Plex. I have created a Harmony account and now it is asking me to register devices??? I don't want the remote to replace my TV remotes or any other remotes, I want it purely to use for Plex. Could someone please help me out here.

Thanks.

Just heard today that the HP Proliant N40L has reached end of life. Does anybody know what it will be replaced with?

Actually ignore my post regarding the Harmony remote. I have realized it is going to be overkill to use just for Plex - I prefer using the remotes for each device (even tho it takes up more space). So am going to return the remote and hopefully find one that works. Currently using the VideoMate K300 which is perfect for what I want but the range is pathetic - you literally have to be 30cm away from the receiver to get it to work which is extremely frustrating and also the fact that it is linked with Windows Media Player, if you accidentally press the big green windows button, it closes Plex and open Media Player which I don't want.

So could anyone recommend a remote that they are using and can guarantee works well?

Yeah I have to agree, I also have two N36's and I can't fault either, both performing admirably, one as NAS and one HTPC.

Harmony 700 Unniversal Remote for sale

Ok. I have to sell my Harmony 700. Basically new, just don't use it. Its been in my draw since I bought it last year. Tried programming it once, and it was too frustrating. Prefer android and Yatse.

Any takers. I'm thinking R450, but if that's not fair we can negotiate.

Really enjoying my experience with my N40L so far... In January my NIC broke... All good, got it replaced... Guess what decided to give up last night? My new NIC on my second Motherboard... Kind of frustrating
