Can't seem to find many Vantec caddies. I don't need anything fancy.

Matrix Warehouse keeps them.
Something like R150 for a dual 2.5" caddy that fits in a 5.25" bay.
Dirt cheap and they work.

I wish Esquire would start stocking them.

The standard drive it 3.5 inch

You only need an adapter bracket as you want to use your 3.5" drive. Those Vantec caddies is if you want to use 2x2.5" drives.

It is possible with some configurations of a 3.5" drive in a 5.25" bay to fit in an SSD above or below the drive.
