HP ProLiant MicroServer

Hi guys. My N40L power supply just packed up and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a replacement. I've looked through the thread and couldn't find anything recent.

I bought a replacement from amazon uk, worked great

I suggest you just make sure it is the PSU by using a normal PSU - obviously outside the case. If it works, then you know.

Sometimes you can have them repaired. If you're out Pta way, I can give you two good contacts. Potentially one on the East Rand.

I just came to this post to recommend CME, but can't believe I didn't find your post sooner...
I searched everywhere trying to find a Flex ATX PSU locally but didn't have a lot of luck.
I purchased one from BoB, but unfortunately, it only had a 20-pin ATX MB connector.

I searched around a lot more, and eventually came across CME, and ordered the KT-U200FX 200w PSU.
It arrived promptly this morning and a finished fitting it a little while ago. All 3 mounting screws line up perfectly.
Microserver is booting up perfectly now!
It unfortunately only comes with 1 Molex connector, but the microserver needs 4 for the HD's, so I cut off the floppy power connector and joined in 2 serial Molex connectors, as I only have 3 drives. It does come with 1 SATA connector for an additional SSD or optical drive.
Service from CME was exceptional.

Hi Codemaster - my microserver just died. I am NOT a techie, so all the above about needing multiple Molex connectors is above my expertise.. I only have one drive in my box, would the CME PS as supplied need any of the modding you mention?

If you only use one drive it works out of the box, else you need to put some splitters on the "molex" which is basically just the plastic part (plug) that holds the wires together. With below you can use two hard drives. I wouldn't split it again after that.

Thanks. I have just chatted to CME, they recommended I have them do the work since I said I'm not very technical, also because that PS may or may not fit my particlar model.

For what it's worth, I have the N36L - I don't know which yours is?

Hi everyone, a while ago i picked up a few SAS drives , i am not even sure if those drives are working.
I would like to test them on my HP micro server, maybe have a nice proper raid....
what is a cheap way to get it done?
i assume i need a sas PCI controller?

I beleive the backplane is SATA only so it wouldn't work? Maybe someone else can confirm

HP Microserver has a SATA backplane so cannot use the internal bays.

However, if you had a low profile SAS controller card you could mount them in the 3.5" bay theoretically.

Thanks for the post. Found the power supply on Takealot supplied by CME. Will report back on Thursday when delivered.

What's the going sell price for the n40l, considering selling mine as it's not being used

I bought my N40L for R1000 last year, and that included the base server, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, a 40GB SSD and a GT710 GPU
